In February of 1997, as a guaranteed Introducing Brokerage firm that cleared Iowa Grain Company, we came to the conclusion that there was a better way to do business in the futures industry. After 12 years working in virtually every facet of the futures market, both on and off the floor, the principals of Lakefront, Nick Leblebijian (former member of the CME) and Jon Marcus, opened a commodities brokerage firm founded on one major idea: customers were separate individuals who not only wanted individual attention…they deserved individual attention. It didn’t matter if they were considered a “discount” or “full service” customer; if they had a request, the broker’s job was to handle that order as if it were their own. This concept was a major departure from what we had witnessed at other firms earlier in our careers. This focus on customer care would become the foundation of our business.
